Night Shift, the worm turns
I’ve worked until midnight or later for the better part of the past twelve years. In that time there have been a select few opportunities to vary from those odd hours. And even fewer chances to see the sunrise on company time.
Today I was up pre-dawn to work a 7a-3pshift on the online/multimedia desk for the California International Marathon. Morning light is simply heartening, in a way that only something so fresh and so new could be.

Oddity is a relative term. For my buddy Brian Recore, climbing to ten thousand feet in a pair of Vibram Five Finger feet shoes, that is to say nearly barefoot, is like a walk in the park. Like most things, it’s all a matter of perspective.
